What Kind of Therapies Do You Offer?

Physical Therapy aims to ease pain and help with better function and movement. Best used for prevention and recovery from an injury or illness, it may be used to relieve pain and improve movement or ability. Following an evaluation, our physical therapists develop an individualized care plan with the goal to give you back your independence and make daily tasks easier. Our program seeks to help reduce pain and maintain a higher quality of life by overall strengthening and minimizing risk of injury.

Any illness or injury that requires a hospitalization lasting more than one night can take a toll on your body, particularly if you must remain in bed for days at a time. An occupational stay at our community will help you regain your former strength and ability. Your occupational therapist can design a program of exercises to get you back to normal as quickly as possible.

Speech Therapy addresses the full range of communication disorders in older adults. Following assessment and diagnosis, their professional training and experience treats speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Speech language therapy is appropriate for adults who have difficulty with voice; tone; producing sounds correctly or fluently (such as stuttering); or communicating feelings, ideas, and thoughts. These professionals also treat social communication disorders or the use of verbal and nonverbal communication.

Respiratory Therapy provides licensed specialists trained in caring for people with heart and lung disorders, involving the treatment and management of breathing. They perform chest exams and create treatment plans to resolve problems and illnesses within the lungs, as well as manage breathing equipment and evaluate blood oxygen levels. Treatments may include oxygen therapy, self-care instructions, and techniques to control breathing.

Short-term rehabilitation specializes in patients discharged from the hospital, but not yet ready to return home. Following surgery or an illness, it focuses on recuperative care, concentrated rehabilitative therapy, general strengthening and medical treatment. Our short-term rehab program works hand in hand with our Transitions program to cover all the needs patients have in their journey to go safely home again.
