Eva Scott's Story

My Life here at Covenant Manor for the past year has been wonderful. I moved here on December 3, 2007. I had been praying for God to give me a place to call my own, where I could have peace, joy, quietness, happiness and love.

I have four wonderful children who love me dearly and has given me a place to live within their homes when needed where much love abides, but we all know that it is so wonderful to have a place to call your own.

One of my main desires in life is to do or say something as I go from day to day that will bless someone, help someone, or to put a smile on someone’s face as we go through the trials and tribulations of today’s world.

My main objectives in life where people are concerned is CARING and SHARING . We took a test in my church to find out what our spiritual gifts was. I found out that mine was CARING and SHARING . I was so happy because I then learned why I do the things I do with such PLEASURE and JOY. I feel as though I can never do enough when I can put a smile on someone’s face as I see from time to time. Just a little bit of politeness or just a kind word goes a long way and can really make a difference in one’s feelings towards one another.

I become very overjoyed. My heart goes out to people in a loving and caring way. When I see the overwhelmed faces full of smiles I just say to God be the glory.

We are so honored to have such a wonderful manager. (Mrs. Jeanette Edghill). Time after time in just this past year that I have been here, she just keeps giving and giving of herself and her time to make things happen for us as tenants. I have been told by other tenants of the wonderful things that she has done for the people here.

Jeanette never deprives us of things we want to do as long as it’s appropriate for us as neighbors and this building.

She always sees to it that this place is well kept. It is always clean around here from the top to the bottom floor. We have a garbage room on every floor and our areas still remain very pleasant as far as odors, cleanliness, etc. Therefore, I am very proud to live here in such clean and pleasant surrounds.

We do many things to create, socialism, fellowship and unconditional love among our neighbors such as bingo games for fun and prizes, spiritual concerts to uplift the spirits of the tenant, play Wii sports on Monday evenings for exercise and mobility and computer classes for brain skills and other useful techniques.

We have a group called “Life Choices” who will be doing many other things along with the input and ideas of each of us as tenants to continue to make life here at Covenant Manor more meaningful, enjoyable and most of all just being a blessing to each other.

I can walk through the hallways of this building and just see the improvement in the lives of the people as we fellowship with one another from day to day through spiritualism, dinning, fun and games.

My prayers is that God will grant special blessings to all of the wonderful employees here at this building who takes so much pride in meeting the needs of us all. Our secretary, social worker, superintendent and our maintenance worker as well as our manager. Also, the Sunshine Club who does so many wonderful things as far as extending love and sympathy as well as financial blessings to the tenants in their times of need.

And then, may he bless the new Life Choices group as they venture out to make life happy, prosperous and enjoyable through much fellowship and fun through various trips away from home in order that we may meet and greet other seniors, etc. Our club motto is: “Yes We Can”.

We know that we can live and be a family here at our wonderful community Covenant Manor.

Blessings,
Eva Scott, resident
