Teddy Bears in My Bed
Do you remember the luscious chocolate left on your pillow? Or snuggling up at bedtime with your favorite childhood animal friend? Let me introduce you to CNA Kathleen Thorn, who makes her daughter’s bed everyday, arranging the stuffed animals, dolls, blankets and pillows into cute designs or themes. A few weeks ago Kathleen decided the residents in her care might like this same treatment—what a difference it has made!
While all can’t wait to see what daily creation awaits them, Betty Andrews bubbles with enthusiasm, “Kathleen decorates my bed everyday and I never know what it’ll look like when she’s done. I love it.”
Although it takes extra effort, the kind and creative Kathleen, who has worked at Pitman Manor for nearly two and a half years, considers the happiness of residents foremost. This ritual has been noticed by her co-workers, including Patti Davidson, secretary to executive director, who delighted, “This was such a wonderful gift for our residents! I took some pictures of Kathleen’s bed decorating and hope they inspire others here.”
