Reverend John Callanan
Chaplain
John graduated from Lycoming College in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and from Drew University in 1990 with a Master of Divinity degree. He received his board certification from The Association of Professional Chaplains. John has over 25 years of ministry service in the Northern New Jersey and Greater New Jersey Annual Conferences serving local churches, as a hospital chaplain, a hospice chaplain, a port chaplain and acting clinical pastoral education supervisor before becoming the chaplain at Bristol Glen.
John has many hobbies including drawing, painting, gardening, genealogy, trains and military and railroad history. He and his wife, Ellen, share their home with two cats, Pedro and Maggie.
Leeah Develez, RN
Director of Nursing
Leeah began her nursing career at St Michael’s Medical Center in Newark as an infectious disease research nurse. Her team’s work was published for successful medication regimen. Leeah received her RN degree from Holy Name School of Nursing in conjunction with St Peter’s College and plans to continue her education, pursuing a Nurse Practitioner license. She is certified in wound care. Nursing has been Leeah’s passion her entire life.
Leeah is married to her high school sweetheart, Ryan, and they have a son, Noah. Her hobbies center on adventurous family activities, including hiking, cycling, skiing and karate.
Karen Fichter, RN
Director of Specialty Services
Karen holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing. Before becoming part of the Bristol Glen team she was a nurse manager for Potomac Homes, the director of wellness for New Seasons Assisted Living, and a registered nurse for Franciscan Oaks, Merry Heart, Morristown Memorial Wound Care Center and The Adult and Pediatric Urology Group. Karen especially enjoys learning about the specific needs of each resident and finding ways to improve their quality of life.
During the warm months of the year Karen loves to sit on her deck and enjoy the view of Lake Hopatcong or spend time in her garden. In the winter she bring the gardening indoors, reads and tries new recipes out on her family and friends. Her favorite way to spend time is with her two children and Labrador retriever.
Jodie Joaquin, RN, CALA
Director of Wellness
Jodie received her AAS Degree in Nursing from Bergen Community College in 1988. Before coming to Bristol Glen she was a staff nurse at Valley Hospital, the director of nursing at Wiersma Nursing Home and the director of nursing at Ridgewood Manor. Jodie holds certifications in CPR and IV, is an evaluator for the NJ Skills Nursing Test, is ANA certified in gerontology and is a Certified Assisted Living Administrator.
Jodie is one of five children and her parents owned a nursing home while she was growing up. She has two daughters, Heather and Amy, and is expecting her first grandchild. In her spare time Jodie enjoys camping, bowling, reading, decorating and baking.
Theresa Loughney
Administrator
Theresa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Health Services Administration. Her experience includes being a certified nursing assistant, a registered nurse in medical and surgical long term care settings, a director of staff development, a director of nursing, an assistant administrator, a licensed nursing home administrator and a long term care surveyor for the New Jersey Division of Health and Senior Services. Theresa is an AANC board certified gerontological nurse, a certified Eden Alternative associate and a CMS certified long term care surveyor.
Theresa has many hobbies which include being a parent cheerleader for her sons’ sporting events (football, basketball and baseball), canoeing, kayaking, baking and traveling to Maine on family vacations. She is also a Cub Scout Leader. Theresa, her husband Joe and sons Scott and Joey share their home with two Labrador retrievers and a cat.
Marie Manzi
Social Service Coordinator
Marie is the social worker for The Tice Pavilion, our assisted living residence, and Zeigler Grove, our memory support residence. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Human Services. She is a CSW (certified social worker) in the State of New Jersey. Marie has been a social worker for over 24 years, with experience in long term care and sub-acute care settings. She was the director of admissions and social work for 18 of these years.
Marie and her husband Jim have two daughters, Julia and Jenna. Her hobbies include walking, decorating, reading, vacationing to different areas but mostly spending time with family and friends!
Cindy Mendoza
Social Service Coordinator
Cindy is the social worker for The Harris Center, our healthcare residence. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Kutztown University. Her experience includes time spent as a director of volunteers at Orange Memorial Hospital and a social worker for a hospice organization and various senior living communities. Cindy is certified by the Alzheimer’s Association as a support group facilitator.
Cindy and her husband Danny enjoy family gatherings that include 14 nieces and nephews. In her spare time Cindy takes pleasure in photography, scrapbooking, genealogy, travel and skiing.
Denise Minimi
Director of Marketing
Denise has over 19 years experience in various aspects of marketing, sales and business development and is a CMP (certified marketing professional). Denise finds it especially rewarding to observe a new residents enjoying an activity, making new friends or learning a new skill in a class.
Denise and her husband Phil have three grown children. She enjoys traveling and has taken several Caribbean cruises, along with travel to Europe to visit Italy, England and France. She and her daughter Michelle, a member of our dining services team, look forward to their frequent visits to New York to take in a museum or Broadway musical.
G Scott Norton
Executive Director
Scott has over 18 years of experience with United Methodist Homes in various positions, the last 10 with Bristol Glen. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA). Scott is on the board of Karen Anne Quinlan Hospice/Home Care.
Scott and Jackie have one son, Corey. In his spare time Scott enjoys cooking, reading, RVing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Scott loves being around really great managers and staff and doing what they all love to do...bring a great quality of life and great care to the residents of Bristol Glen.
Joe Pizzi
Director of Maintenance and Security
Joe has over 20 years of experience in maintenance in various types of buildings, including senior care communities. He earned his EPA certification for refrigerant and attended HVAC School. Joe is a retired Marine and is an active member of the Sussex County Marine Corps League.
Joe and his wife Sherri, our admission director, have six children between them and six grandchildren. Joe’s hobbies include motorcycle riding, hunting and range shooting.
Sherri Pizzi
Director of Admissions
Sherri received her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and sociology and did her graduate work in education at the University of Houston. She is a certified social worker in the State of New Jersey and is certified as a New Jersey Housing Commissioner, having served on the local board of Liberty Towers, Newton’s senior HUD housing. Before coming to Methodist Manor, the precursor to Bristol Glen in 1990, she worked as a director of social work.
Sherri is married to our maintenance director, Joe, and they have six children between them. Two of Sherri’s children have worked at Bristol Glen so you can say Bristol Glen is part of their family!
Jeffrey Quinn
Director of Residential Life
Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science from Saint Francis University and attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He spent 18 years in the banking industry before coming to Bristol Glen, first as the director of marketing and now as the director of residential life.
Jeff and his wife Lisa, have three grown children, Briana, Patrick and Terence. The Quinn family actively volunteer in Sussex County and Jeff was recently named Sussex County Person of the Year.
Frank Rigillo
Director of Dining Services
Frank is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and is ServSafe Food Safety certified. He has varied experience in the food service industry including being a restaurant owner and general manager. He is retired from the United States Navy.
Frank has been married for 17 years. He and his wife have two terrific sons. In his spare time Frank enjoys paranormal investigation, cooking photography and computers.
Judy Russalesi
Employee Service Director
Judy has been with United Methodist Homes since 1984, beginning as an administrative assistant at Methodist Manor before becoming the ESD at Bristol Glen in 1991. She is a Certified Assistant Living Administrator (CALA). Judy loves making a difference in the lives of residents and employees.
Judy and her husband of 40 years have a son and daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys computers, reading and traveling, but her favorite way to spend her time is with her grandchildren.
Kazim Saheed
Director of Housekeeping and Laundry
Kazim has over 18 years of experience in hotel management before joining the Bristol Glen team. He earned a diploma in dairy management and animal husbandry in Krefeld, Germany.
Kazim enjoys traveling, camping, fishing and hunting, He and his wife, Patricia, have one daughter, Jasmin.
Caroline Silva
Volunteer Services Coordinator
Caroline has an extensive background as a volunteer director and program director at several non-profits including the American Heart Association and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. She is a member of the board of directors of Camp Riva-Lake for Girls in Tennessee. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Ohio Wesleyan University.
Caroline’s hobbies include swimming, gardening and hiking. She has two sons, Ben and William.
Debra Weinschenk RN, BSN
Staff Development Coordinator
Debra obtained her RN diploma from Hackensack Hospital School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Felician College. She is board certified licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In addition to her position as staff development coordinator she also fills the role of infection control nurse. Before coming to Bristol Glen she was a surgical, ICU, emergency room and EENT nurse and the head nurse in a burn unit. Debra is an instructor of the medical assistant program and the surgical technician program at Sussex County Community College and is a health educator for the State of New Jersey, funded by a one year tobacco education grant. She is certified in APIC and CPR.
Debra is married to Bob and has two children, Erin and Bobby. Her hobbies include dance, music and boating.
Marcia Wesloske
Business Office Manager
Before coming to Bristol Glen, Marcia held positions as an EMT, operations manager and human resources manager for Med Alert Ambulance and held various positions in the St Clare’s Health System. She is a lifetime member of the Glenwood Pochuck Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Marcia is a CPR instructor, American Red Cross first aid instructor and is 911 certified.
Marcia and her husband, Bill, have 4 sons (Bill Jr, Tim, Mike and Tom), 2 daughters-in-law ( Cindy and Melanie) and three grandchildren (Emily, Alicia and Will). In her spare time she enjoys camping, boating and snowmobiling.
Katelyn Tanis
Director of Activities
Katelyn obtained her Bachelor of Sociology from Ramapo College, with a minor on Philosophy. She managed a volunteer program and a 44 bed dementia unit before coming to Bristol Glen. She is a certified dementia practitioner and a certified activity director.
Katelyn is married to Joe. Her hobbies include writing poetry, running marathons (1 full and two half per year) and triathlons.
